Well I have finally finished moving and was able to find my AR parts, so now I just need to find someone who can help me put the mount on my front grip and then I will buy the light. Thanks for all who have given me some info to think about.

bill460 wrote: March 28th, 2020, 12:18 am I have 2 of these from Primary Arms. Thus far they have been excellent lights. They are very well constructed, extremely bright, and can be shortened or lengthened by adding or removing the extra battery section. The added battery doesn't increase the lumens, just the run time.

Yup the same here. I have plenty of them. But they are surefire.

This is my opinion. There’s the preface.

ARs with lights are cool and everything. They look pretty cool. But I know myself and I know my limitations, so I decided to go to the dollar store and buy night lights to place all around the house. Total cost, $10-$15.

Not enough information to determine if lack of illumination was the cause. Sadly, this type of scenario happens too frequently. It all falls to disregarding basic rules of gun safety. KNOW and IDENTIFY your target BEFORE you pull the trigger. He obviously didn't.

I'm not saying weapon lights are unnecessary. Just that they don't replace common sense when handling a weapon. Especially at night when you're half asleep and hear "bump".

Stream light rail mount 1. Bright. One cr123 or single aa battery in a pinch. Comes with tapeswitch and mount. Everything in one package and around 100 bucks.

I’m your price range, stream light protec is the way to go unless can find a used surefire.
Know a few guys that work with me in contracts that use streamlights on their work rifles and say they’re good to go for the intended purpose
