Neighbor selling a Maadi AK pics included

#1

Post by TURRICAN »

So my neighbor just inherited some guns he wants to sell. One caught my eye a Maadi.
It’s a Intract / Knoxville, TN imported one NOT the CAI MISR that everyone hates. It has the 20” barrel. Flash hider doesn’t look correct. Looks all original with a square back receiver so regular furniture will fit. Looks to be in good shape. I’ve been out of the AK market a few years so if anyone can help with a rough guess at a value, I’d appreciated it. If anyone is interested he’d probably let it go relatively cheap as he isn’t really a gun guy.

Flash hider definitely isn't correct. They were imported with a muzzle nut that was lightly spot welded. Early imports came with a bipod so I'm assuming this was one of the later ones from ACC.

There's a 16" ACC on GB right now going for 881 with less than a day left. Although it has all it's original import goodies. https://www.gunbroker.com/item/842699739

Maadis aren't the prettiest but they are solid (except the noted century ones of course). The AK scene is so hectic right now I would tell your friend to just throw it on GB for 800 as a start and let the market dictate from there.

The intrac is one of the better-more desirable Maadi's. very early ones had a painted on trunnion serial number that was later changes to a stamped number. I sold one (refinished wood) a couple years ago for 900. don't know what the market is these days...

If it was mine and I was trying to sell it, I would ask $750-800 for it, assuming there are threads under the muzzle device.
