Tavor 308
Re: Tavor 308
Last I read the Tavor 7 was soon to hit the streets after many months of trying, but failing, to achieve IWI’s accuracy goals.

Re: Tavor 308
gun.deals says a few stores have them in stock
https://gunprime.com/product/iwi-tavor- ... ack-t7b16/
Murmurs on the web state that the accuracy is still poor, 3-4 moa.

Re: Tavor 308
People will still buy them "because they look cool" despite at 3-4 MOA it is effectively a 300yd or less rifle which is a waste of .308 capabilities.
Guys like Ranger1 will probably buy 2.

I’ll never understand the bull pub...more expensive, difficult to do fast mag changes, more difficult to clear a malfunction, and if a cartridge decides to catastrophically fail, it’s 2-3” from your dominant eye.
Is all this worth being able to fit in a shorter case?

Re: Tavor 308
Well it's important to note that the IDF still uses the M16 family of rifles as its main rifle. The Tavor was never designed to replace it. The bullpups are specifically for the tight and cramped cities where houses are literally on top of each other. If you've never been to that part of the world, it's difficult to imagine how cramped it really is there until you see it for yourself. 3-4 moa is fine for them but not for us. It's a niche gun that is perfect for its niche.

Yes - the TAVOR is shorter and more accurate than any AR based SBR.Solar_Empire wrote: ↑August 26th, 2019, 9:44 am Well it's important to note that the IDF still uses the M16 family of rifles as its main rifle. Bold statement. I have no trouble making 300-400 yard hits on 12" steel with my 12.5" 5.56 SBR. There are a multitude of videos online of shooters making shots up to 1000 yards with 12.5" 308 AR-10's.storage_man wrote: ↑August 27th, 2019, 4:08 pmYes - the TAVOR is shorter and more accurate than any AR based SBR.Solar_Empire wrote: ↑August 26th, 2019, 9:44 am Well it's important to note that the IDF still uses the M16 family of rifles as its main rifle. 3-4 MOA is unacceptable sub-par performance for any rifle, I don't care how short it is.
Re: Tavor 308
Well using it in town
Getting in and out of vehicles with 20 other people. Driving a vehicle and need to get out quickly. The Bullpups are great. Longer barrel in a short package. Contact at 6 yards from a truck to 200 yards to a roof top. It's easy, nice, and yes mag changes are something practiced.

Saw one in Las Vegas at Ventura Munitions just a few days ago. I think the price was $1750.
