WM, because it is what I have. If I had the need to go to a larger 30 cal, then I would choose a larger 338 or 7mm instead.

WM because the cost on the other is way more, little velocity advantage, and the case wont last near as long.

WM because it’s a time proved round that’s pretty much available anywhere. As an old timer I have no interest in all these new proprietary rounds that reinvent the wheel.

I loved my WM. Rolled my own but never could get great life out of the cases even with just neck sizing. I've got a Remmy 700 LA action that I'm going to build up. Torn between .30-06 Ackley Improved or the .30 Nosler. I like the .30-06 for barrel life and I can use .30-06 rounds and fire form. Like the Nosler because I can launch 190 and up bullets are good velocities.
Both the WM and Ultra burn out barrels at around 1200 rounds. Not sure about the Nosler. That's another reason I now shy away from them, at least in a gun I'm gonna shoot a lot.
