I've seen them going for $125 each not too long ago.

That's about right, unfortunately. I've tried some of the others, especially polymer, and they don't work.

I don't know if this helps. I have an Arsenal SLR 106FR that's in 556. They are circle 10 numbered mags and work perfectly for me.

Frankly speaking, I didn’t think much of the way the original mags worked either. I purchased one .223 AK the day before the ban was announced in ‘89. Bought two the next day. The guy was apologetic that he had to raise his price $100 to $350. I said I’ll take two. One was an under fold the other two were side folders.

There are a lot of different 5.56 AKs out there, and almost none of them can interchange mags. It has to do with the distance from the locking lug engagement on the mage to where the bolt lug clears the magazine to scoop out the next round. Those dimensions are different on all the various 5.56 designs. Galil mags won't feed in Romanian WASR-3s, and WASR-3 mags won't feed in Norinco 84s, Norinco 84s mags won't feed in AK-106s, etc, etc, etc.

My underfold Norinco 84S .223 was not reliable with the 3 provided steel mags. I just came across three Norinco factory mags in a salty old carrying case, still loaded with Norinco .223 LOL. I think there was a spider in there too.

All of that is why I desperately want to get my hands on an older Zastava M90np with the polymer AR15 mag adapter. Why the hell they reintroduced it without it and using proprietary mags is beyond stoopid, and I just can't imagine what the hell they were thinking.

I spent $140 for a Canis adapter for my Arsenal SLR106F and easily saved that much in the cost of not having to buy Circle 10 mags.
