....
I want a G Rifle but i am afraid i wouldn't shoot due to rarity it and the prices have sky rocketed. Wish i would have bought one when 5K was a lot of money.

Yep....$5K would have been a bargain.

Had a Century R1 that was genuinely pretty good for being a Century gun. Your milage may vary. I'd say a safe bet is a used kit build on an imbel receiver or a DSA

I have 1 Springfield 4800 and 2 Imbel.
I'm shocked at the prices of em now. I paid the most for the 4800 years ago, and that was around 600.

Nowadays..... just the receiver is that.

Before one buys a FAL, they must ask themselves, am I man enough for this glorious weapon?
Back in the day I bought a rhoadisian parts kit and an imbel "gear logo" receiver. Had it built by Derek at AZEX [no idea what happened to that guy or shop though]. Its my favorite gun.

I have come into possession of a Brazilian IMBEL imported by Pacific Armaments Corporation in Modesto, CA.
It appears to be a metric version based on the "Fz SA 7,62" stamp on the left side of the receiver over the selector switch. On the right side is an engraved PAC serial number and an "assembled by C.A.I." stamp. Any ideas what I have and its value? I can't seem to find much on line about it.

Imbel receiver built by CAI with Stg58 parts kit. Saw one sell 2020 for $1550 on falfiles, of course cost of everything is in flux lately. https://www.falfiles.com/threads/wts-st ... st-4939767

One thing I forgot to mention when I made my post earlier is to try and get a FAL now while you can. I think not getting another FAL or two when they were cheap and more plentiful is one of things I regret most concerning guns. Not getting more S&W pre-lock revolvers when they were affordable and for sale everywhere would be the other.

I have a G1 it shoots great. When I bought it I was wondering if I would ever get the $750 back out of it if I ever sold it.. I have all of the original muzzle devices for it too. Blank adapter, grenade launcher, Flash suppressor and a non fluted one.

I have an FAL magazine with the stamp “R-C” with the letters “4 63” underneath it. The stamp is located on the narrow edge near the bottom of the magazine.
Any ideas of the country of origin on this one? Looked but cannot seem to locate any list of magazines and stampings to determine where they came from.

I was in the same place one week ago, and I recently got my first Fal. It’s a DSA SA-58 IBC, para Fal with a 16” fluted barrel. It’s not even close to the OG fal but it sure looks and handles great for me… haven’t had a chance to shoot it tho, will post update once I do. Btw the rifle cost $2300 and the 30rnd mag that looks funky on the gun was $100… so it’s not exactly a cheap one.

Just saying if you’re into a modernized version of it there’re options out there you can consider… :)
