Need advice: what's a fair price for this AR?

This is the last gun from the collection of my shooting buddy who died last May. I have been selling his guns (and accoutrements) since then, and many of you have contributed to the widow's fund.

I have no idea what the going rate is for this gun, so I am hoping some of you can help me out. I want to list it in the Classifieds at a price that is a Good Deal for the buyer, but does not take advantage of the widow. Low price, but not crazy low price.

Thanks for your help.

PS - He also had an upper that he built out, looks high end. Soon, I will post pics of that and ask for your guidance again. After that, I will start listing magazines, a couple of Dillon 550s, and his gun safe

Not interested in the upper, but I'd buy the lower... been looking for a Colt branded one.

I'll put it in the Classifieds once I have figured out what price to ask.

I would break it up since the upper looks to be off-brand. The LE M4 lowers go for more money than most of the other Colts I've seen for sale. I would guess that complete lower would bring $850-1000, but perhaps someone else could give a more precise range. The Aimpoint looks like a Comp M2, and with the mount and in that condition I'd say it's worth about $400.

Is that a M2 or Aimpoint Pro? Covers are from a Pro.

Marked "Patrol Rifle Optic" which probably means "PRO".

OK, now that I have swapped out the uppers, I am left with the one that has the Aimpoint PRO and the M-LOK handguard. The barrel is marked C MP NATO 5.56 1/7. There is also a number, which, peeking through the handguard with a flashlight, looks like 13629.

The only markings I see on the upper receiver are something that looks like a keyhole, and again the numbers 13629. Do those markings give a clue about who made the upper receiver?

So also a Colt? Cool!

Is it possible then that the uppers were not switched after all?

No,Colt LE6920's only were made with "C" stamped upper receivers.
Cage Code Colt uppers are more current uppers.
The swap was correct.
Current Colt 6920's with cage code uppers and cage code barrels are CR6920's not LE6920's.
Serial number starts with CR prefix.

Thanks. This is all great info. "Cage Code"? Is that the thing that looks like a keyhole?

Cage Code is the Number "13629" stamped on the side of the upper receiver and front of the barrel.
"13629" is the Colt Cage Code.
