Windham Weaponry "A1 Government"

#1

Post by Slater »

Picked this up the other day. Windham makes a very nice rifle, even if it's a hodgepodge of A1 and A2 features. Curiously, this one has an A1-length buttstock even though their website description mentions an A2 length stock for this rifle. Maybe they're inching closer to a true A1?

Magazine is marked "Wilson Combat" and is the same (Israeli?) mag I've seen rebranded for other manufacturers.

I replaced the included plain Vanilla sling with a slightly nicer plain Vanilla sling from USA Slings.

Nice! Can't really tell the barrel profile.
Does the rifle feel lightweight like the original or front heavy?
If they nailed the balance of the a1/sp1 this could be keeper.

Hard to tell, really. Doesn't feel front heavy to me.

M4 feed ramps: Yes

Don't know how clear this is, but the forge mark looks kind of like a capital "A" with the middle missing:
