Messing around with the bolt in military made me lose confidence in it (even though I had only 1-2 malfunctions shooting.) If you put the bolt into battery slowly it can stick and not close... this was with parked bolt parts. So I think this is fixed by using already slick parts.

That said I do like the design where the rings on bolt can be replaced when worn.
Not an AR guy here but the best option is a one-piece gas ring setup.

Have you seen the video where a guy puts 1000 rounds through a AK? It is on fire and the barrel warps. He beats it straight against the table and keeps shooting. Try that with a AR.

^^^^ This!!

Instead you get AR fanbois posting on a forum asking if it might have damaged their rifle by knocking it off a table onto carpeted floor.

Iraqveteran8888 only got to just over 800rds with an AR before the barrel failed catastrophically.

Pretty sure it was the gas tube that failed.

i'd say which ever one you have the need for, general shooting is one thing, combat is another issue all together

He might suprise you, but somehow I dont think you will ever be read in. Besides it's better off for everyone involved that no one challenges your carefully crafted world where your superiority is sacrosanct and unassailable. It might cause a mental break.

I glad to see you guys are finally learning. You guys wouldn't know how to run a AK to save your lives. I will give you a lesson for free. When you dig up a box of AK's out of the dirt and they are covered in cosmoline you can clean them up alittle by pissing on them. As a matter of fact if you don't have oil to put on them you can piss on them to lube them up.

Depends on who made it. Everyone copied the Russians. Not everyone copied the quality of the Russians. But I can tell you this, when your life depends on it you WILL make it work.
