Opinions Wanted on Asking Price for Rem 700

Back in 2008-2010 I was really getting into the 500yd F-T/R out at Rio so I had a rifle built.

It started off as a 204 Ruger SPS Varmint, and was converted to 223 Rem.

So a Remington 700 BDL, lapped bolt lugs, action trued. 1:8 Krieger Stainless Rem Heavy Varmint profile barrel with a finished length of 27", target crown/non-threaded. Krieger 3lb trigger with safety. Stock is AAC-SD takeoff I bought from a member of the old message board. Has an EGW 20 MOA Picatinny rail on it. Bolt handle knob is factory Rem 700. Stock has some scratches and the barrel has a few small safe dings. Action has 300ish rounds on it and the barrel has 135 rounds through it.

Opinions on a fair asking price for local sale?

Honestly, the market is so hard to judge right now my best advice is to put it on gunbroker with a bunch of pictures, a good description a long auction with no reserve and a penny start. You'll get market value, whatever it is currently.

This is what I use as a barometer.. Don't bother looking at armslist prices right now, people are nuts!

I was at the Gun Show earlier today and saw some Rem 700 heavy barrel, plastic stocks, 22-250, .223 and don't quite remember but I believe an 30-06, asking prices were from $1300 to $1500, he also had a standard contour plastic stocked in .270 for $895, these were new rifles.
Another guy had a Heavy Barrel, bi-pod, scoped with Vortex (I think) plastic stock in .223 for $1250.

About 3 months ago I bought a thumbhole fancy stocked heavy barreled 22-250 in stainless for $800, used and bedded/ no scope. Hope this helps.

It miserable trying to price a gat during this shiat, i really struggled pricing items for my sale, most were pretty reasonable, tried not to be insanely high, but one always has to take in account the replacement value, and of course the usual condiments on the gat.

Good advice. You can also use the advance search function and look up completed auctions, you'll see what they actually sold for.
