Discuss rifles, carbines, and other long-arms here (AR-15's, AK's, etc...)

The 308 does the 1,000 yards with no trouble. Not that hard. The two on the left my rounds and the one's on the right is my friends 308.

Anyone can get a plate and write 1000 yards on it and hit it with a ball-peen hammer.
Unlike your bull, I even have witness who saw it. As I recall there were four of them. Must been a bad day for you, your trying to stir the pot.

428CJ can shoot. I've read a bunch of his posts about long range shooting over the years, and even chatted with him face to face a few times back when the open carry dinners were a thing.

I know Glen over at Independence training is a fan of the Ruger precision's rifle. Also a fan of 6.5

He and one of his instructors both regularly compete in precision rifle events. Maybe drop them an email.

They offer an excellent precision rifle course as well.

I would go .260 Rem. since you have 308 even 6.5 CR there just about the same round but both are better than 308 I would not get the 6CR you will not get good barrel life
