In 2005/2006 I owned one of their CAR4 uppers. I believe that’s what it was called back then. Purchased from ADCO for $405 shipped. It was good quality and accurate.
In 2010 I helped a friend purchase a used Entry Tactical (M4 with heavy barrel under handguards) from a guy walking around the SAR show for $800. Again, it was good quality and very accurate. I shot it multiple times and was always impressed.
The only thing that I never quite liked was by default they didn’t have chrome lined barrels. That was always an up-charge.
If I was going to buy an AR right now, I’d look for a Colt 6920 for around the $1200 mark. Most RRA aren’t much less. Especially now.

My friend has a rock river and it functions great but keep in mind their products are not milspec so parts swaps are iffy

I'm the same way with a lot of these gun companies that have done foolish things in the past. I don't hold grudges. For example, many guys still continue to badmouth Ruger for Bill Ruger's statements about how, "No one needs a magazine that holds more than 10 rounds."AZ1182 wrote: ↑April 4th, 2020, 2:02 am Springfield at least fully explained themselves, a lot of which made actual sense, fired that lobbyist, said sorry, and it was good enough for me. Their 1911's are very good. I don't know if RRA made things right or stayed hiding in the shadows but I do know that they do make decent AR15's and AR parts.
That was decades ago. Today Bill Ruger is nothing but history. And Ruger will be more than happy to sell you 30 round magazines for their Mini 14 models. But there is no one left in management in that company anymore with the last name Ruger. So to keep grinding on that rusty axe is just foolish.
The same with Smith & Wesson, and the old, "Clinton deal" they had with Ed Schultz. Back when Tompkins PLC owned S&W. Since the Safe-T-Hammer takeover, all of the Clinton agreements have been torn up. Smith & Wesson is simply not the same company any longer. And it's senseless to make the current management do time, for what they had no part of in the first place. Yet you still have guys who won't buy a Smith & Wesson firearm because of it. That's just plain dumb.

I've owned 2 RRA ARs and they were both very reliable and accurate.

Picked this up from my FFL the other day. Plane-Jane RRA A2 HBAR (1:9 twist) for range/target/general plinking use. Pretty much standard except that the pistol grip has a rubberized coating. Interesting that the upper and lower come packed separately in the case.
Wonder who makes RRA's mags? The design seems familiar but I can't place it.
