Your preferred trigger in an AR?

For an "all-around" use AR with a 16" barrel, what type of trigger would you prefer? (Assume other factors/features/brand are as you would want)

While I'd prefer to get Geissele triggers in all my AR's, budget has bumped that down to LaRue triggers which are almost as good IMO.

I've played with Timney's, RRA NM, KAC, Wilson Combat as well... but the best balance between the cost and trigger feel/quality seems to be the LaRue IMO.

I voted for the two stage, flat trigger. I really do enjoy the LaRue MBT.

I have both flat and curved trigger Chip McComick (CMC) drop in triggers. I like them both. As long as a trigger is not gritty I am not real picky. Had a drop in POF trigger that was no better than a mil-spec with grit.

Tried the JP kit, but it would not reliably fire 7.62mm surplus ammo. Putting in the heavy hammer spring to fire everything negated much of the light feel.

The Larue MBT is the best trigger on the market for under $100. Flat faced, two stage. Only trigger I have that I enjoy more is my Geissele SD3G.

Damn A dead tie on the votes. I bet at 3AM one will become a clear winner.

OK all kidding aside, I like single stage triggers, flat for Long Range and target and curved for gloves/no gloves for everything else. I've tried several, I hated none but on a bell curve where 90% of what I tried were in the middle of the bell, the CMC was at the low end and the Elftmann was at the high end.

Keep in mind this is my personal opinion and like/dislike, YMMV.

Larue MBT can’t be beat for the money IMO.
Most are better served with just a light tune on a std. setup with some JP springs.
On the ‘ target use only’ setups… I define these as any that have adjustment screws…. Expect something to eventually come loose… loctite is your friend but at some time( usually the worst time) one will slip.
Of the 100’s I’ve done in the shop I still like a light tune and JP spring setup in my personal stuff. Got tired of chasing adjustments on Elftmans and the like.

On a whim a few years ago, I bought a Rise Armament RA-140 on sale for $80, turned out to be a really nice trigger. Drop in cartridge, 3.5 lbs, short reset, I loved it. Now I have one in almost every AR I have. I have some others that I bought before, CMC, Timney, RRA, ALG, etc. Can't beat the value of the RA triggers. They now have a bunch of versions including flat blades, and usually include captured pins.

Lots of 2-gun matches, and thousands of rounds through my original install, and other rifles with no issues.
