Police and other fed agencies are still civilians.

This is the place for those men and women who have given of themselves in military service to our country. Feel free to discuss anything as it relates to prior (or current) service... and we all thank you for your service!

While I respect law enforcement for the job they do, it's not easy. Not the same as signing the blank check you sign when you join the military. I was in the Infantry for 20+, 2 stars on my CIB, I never arrested anyone I just killed them. I have shrapnel wounds on my face, not really a job hazard for law enforcement. You catch my drift, it's not the same.

Yep, and more yep. Hell, even being an aircraft mechanic, I put my ass more on the line literally everyday than most. Try crawling into the fuel tank of an F-111 with SCBA and coming out with JP8 all over you burning your skin every other day. Maybe walking in front of the intakes at the same moment they go to military and full afterburner on the trim pad because the spotter didn't see you. Yea, not even close to the same. Now, I didn't join "the fight" on the ground for the same reasons you just mentioned, so, I can't tell the tale about that, and good on ya for doing it, it's appreciated from a fellow vet.

Have a great, gun carryin', Kenpo day
