Yea... I heard there is a problem in the phx area with raccoons in some areas... The feral cat problem isnt helping.. Why?.. Because alot of folks feed the cats... And raccoons love cat food... Im guessing a hav a hart trap would work fine if you wanted them alive..ive never used one.. But my buddy catches dozens of cats with his... Then relocates them...im guessing someone else on board here might chime in with better suggestions...good luck

I can’t say I’ve ever seen a Raccoon in my 40 years in Mesa. Not till I travel further out to Salt River or one of the Lakes. I recall John Candy had a heck of a time with them at the cabin though.

I’m near 7th ave and Glendale. A couple years ago, I had 5 of them on the roof one night. I have also seen coyotes and javelina in the area.

As far as getting rid of them, I would say trapping them is about the only option. You would have to decide what to do with them after you caught them, though.

This picture is on 7th ave, just south of Glendale.

Wow. Our house is less than a mile from there and would never have thought there were raccoons in the neighborhood.

I agree the cat problem is contributing. I have a neighbor that feed them. They are all pests! Trying to trap!

Pellet gun enough juice? I would never suggest using a suppressed 22 in the city limits so that’s only option I guess?

Even a pellet gun isn't legal within Phoenix city limits without jumping through a bunch of hoops.

I see a future geico commercial with that video!... I have the occasional roof rat sighting in my yard... I smack a few here and there.... Not sure which is worse... Seeing a coon on my wall.. Would definitely get the adrenaline flowing for sure :o

I have the PHX air rifle code saved on my home PC because I shoot my air rifle in my back yard all the time. I'll put it up later. It basically says you need to be safe, have a back stop, etc. Nothing about NO pest control.
