Hey all,

I think i need to start being more serious about protecting my skin from the sun. I was thinking about looking at some of the long sleeve "fishing shirts" offered by companies like Columbia.

I'm looking for something that won't be overly warm, but still be long sleeved. Do you guys have any recommendations?

That's amazing you posted this. I was just looking at web sites on where to buy Columbia shirts.
A friend of mine told me about them and I was just looking at them on different sites.
He bought his at Summit Hut.
They sure seem to be expensive though.
I am also looking for a good lightweight shirt.
I work out in the sun all day.

There is a Columbia store just south of Chandler off the 10. Great cheaper prices. In the outlet mall there.

Are they really much cheaper? Or is it like "this shirt is 3% cheaper than retail, and just as much as ordering it online"?

From what I see on their website the prices are the same as on line.
The only problem with buying clothes and shoes online is that you can't try them on before you buy.
I have found that one size is one brand doesn't seem to be the same in other brands.

I've taken to wearing a long sleeve 'wicking' T as an undershirt if I'm going to be in the sun a lot. Telsa or something like that ordered off of Amazon.

Sign up online for Columbia's "membership" program. They send out a lot of "special deals for members only," like Cabela's. I have half a dozen of the SPF30 fishing shirts; they are my standard summer clothing, worn untucked to conceal pistol on belt. Typical price $20.

In fact, I got an email yesterday that says I have $5 in "points."

I shop at the outlet store near the casino on the I10 south of 202. There is another outlet store by Anthem.

ETA - Just now got an email that said "25% off everything, online and in-store."
Never pay "regular" price for Columbia -- they have a different special ($X off, X% off) almost every week.

Check out ‘Habit’ brand...half the price of Columbia. In fact I bought five for $13.99 each from Costco earlier this year.

In the same boat....never thought I’d I have a ‘threesome’ until a month ago. Me, a dermatologist and her assistant. I had to strip down and they photo’d me with a grid camera of some type to map out any suspicious moles, freckles et. I had 1 removed from my face and 2 from my back and they came back all harmless.

But it was enough for me to seek out more protective clothing, and use more sunscreen. I hit the Columbia and north face up in Anthem on the 17, good prices. Look at some of their lightweight hiking type pants. On line, LA Police Gear had magpul shirts and pants on closeout. The other day In Sams and found some Greg Norman long sleeve summer weight t-shirts, for 12 bucks.
