Have you ever shot your own turkey for Thanksgiving? If so, tell us about it.

(BTW, helpful tip: shotgun pellets bounce off the frozen Jennie-O turkeys at Safeway. Don't go that route.)

I killed one in Charouleau Gap in the Catalinas years ago.
Not much to the story.
I drove up over the pass and shot it in the river bottom.
It didn't taste very good though.

I"ve dropped a few over the years in the spring hunt in 27, as as noted, not the best tasting, but it got eaten, several had some nice beards. gott'em stashed around here somewhere.
