I carry a .380 when I jog. Don't know how much good that would do me, unless the cat died laughing.

I hate jogging or running and have relegated it in my mind to actual Godzilla sightings. If you see me running Godzilla is actually laying waste to Mesa and you should follow suit.

but .. I do cycle and carry a 642 with 38+p LSWCHP. 5 rounds would probably be nothing more than an irritant to the Kitty so unless he was just frightened away by loud noises .. I would be kitty food.

just being a cat, they are the most curious animals Arizona has to offer, rare of an attack, but could and would if diseased and or so hungry, like all predators they are using opportunity to fill their needs, wait, isn't the epitome of man.
just sayin, whos higher on the kill chain

looks to me like the cat heard or saw the jogger and did what comes natural.
It hid from what could be a potential danger.
The last thing any wild animal wants is a confrontation when it is not necessary .

ANOTHER KITTY ENCOUNTER
Saw that video a few days ago. Two things occurred to me .. first . I would have let lead fly sooner and second the A-hole is throwing shots because he is shooting one handed so he can hold his phone in the other for internet points. Gonna shoot, make it count and put your stupid a$$ video recording device away.

Darwin award, You NEVER fire a warning shot at a mountain lion stalking you. And if he can't even hit it from as close as he is, he's even more an idiot than I originally thought, lol. But, at least his mauling would have been caught on his phone...
