Crossroads of the West in December

#1

Post by Rebelpvtj »

So, the last time I went to a Crossroads show was 2008, and it was the July show.

I’ve been seeing online a lot of really negative reviews on these shows, all pretty much summed up as “Over priced common guns, lots and lots of prepped/shooting gimmicks/jerky.” Then allude to the private party deals or even dealer deals are more rare then winning the Powerball twice in a row.

So, I’d like to hear from this group their thoughts on the December show. I remember it being huge, and finding good deals easily. I’m going to be off the opening day, and was thinking of going to try to work some trades out of my personal collection.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, still is. Easily twice, to possibly three times a 'normal' show.

Easily? That's going to bring a chuckle to most of us regulars.
However, NOT impossible. I think I've been pleased each year I have went.

Friday is not the best day, simply because many vendors won't be there, or
they will have their tables covered-up. But, it's certainly the least crowded.
Not a bad option.

There are personal sellers there. And there are high-volume 'hobbyists', LOL.
Good luck!

Only show worth going just because of the volume of dealers that show up once a year always a deal to be found but you have to search really hard for it.

The December show is the only one I will go to.
Not only is it a Crossroads show,
but the Small Arms Review show is there at the same time
and it brings in a lot of people from out of state.

The SAR show is the only one I go to religiously each year. I always find something I’m happy with. I can’t that that about the other regular shows.

Completely depends on what you are looking for. You have about a 10% of finding a “good deal”.

But, it is the best gun show all year.

With the economy in the crapper, it is a good time to be a door shark and look for those private sellers carrying stuff in to offload. And with the threat of The Cackler becoming Prez now gone,...now there will be very little biz for many in the industry with no panic buying ensuing. So prices might be a tad reasonable.

I plan on going this year. Is Friday a bad day to go? I happen to have it off and was considering Friday to beat some of the crowd. But if a lot of vendors are not open I will just go Saturday.

Go the first day and walk around. Get your hand stamped and go back every day for free.

IMO nothing wrong with going on Friday.
It is less crowded and some vendors are closed,
but the guys that are closed seem to not have good prices.

Very few are closed on Friday. They know that the extra day is part of the draw for that show. It pays to be there that day. Yes, FAR less crowded with odds of a much closer parking space.

Short commercial. You can also get information about Arizona Citizens Defense League, join the same or renew your membership at a discounted price.
