Re: Gun Test: The Sauer 101 Highland XTC Is a Rugged Mountain Rifle

For 3K i would probably look at having a custom rifle built to my specs for the task at hand. A 5-6 pound rifle will carry well but not be fun to shoot in some of those calibers especially the magnum calibers. Hunting rifles are a constant compromise to some extent. The concept of a really light rif...

Re: Finally shot my .460!

The BFR Outing to Rio was interesting. The muzzle flash and concussion was so loud people from the other end came down to see what was going on. I was flustered by the roof blowing apart above me and gave up after a couple cylinders. I need to dawn the gloves and give it another try out on the open....

Re: Finally shot my .460!

I have been shooting .460 for a while ten plus years, i have S&W .460V with a 5" Barrel. It has 2 muzzle brakes one for jacketed and one for lead bullets. Its and X-frame and pretty heavy. Its not bad with full power .460 ammo, its a handful but shootable. I like it its the one i shoot most...

Re: Seeking value on a 1977 Colt SP1 AR15

As you know its only worth what someone will pay. Get it for sale start high and see what interest it brings. A quick search of recent sales in the last 2 months shows a range of 1600-2300 for an SP1 but that does not separate out year of Mfg, configuration etc. Colt Collectors are very knowledgeabl...

Laser Engraving Firearms

Has anyone had anything laser engraved lately. I.E. SBR info, custom graphics etc. Just curious what the ball park cost is to engrave something on a firearm.

Re: What optic are you using for breakdown 10-22?

I put an aimpoint Micro H-1 on mine but that was before the Holosun stuff was around. Aimpoint cost as much as the gun. I have not had issues with losing decent zero, it fits in the case with the sight attached. I put one of the gen 1 folding butt-stocks on it from AGP Arms here in Tempe. Nice packa...

Re: Ruger Made Marlin 45-70 SBL

Hopefully the aftermarket will step up with parts for the real Marlins and the Remington 2nd cousins. I had hopes that the Ruger things would be similar enough to open up a parts supply. Sounds like that will not be the case. Oh well. Shoot em till they don't work then sell as collectors items on GB...
