Re: AZCDL does NOT give political endorsements

I got the email in question, as did nearly everyone else, I imagine. Given the info in the email, I am sure how I am going to vote.

The AZCDL policy of not endorsing candidates makes sense, but I would like to know more of what goes on.

Re: Sickening Giffords

It is interesting that her husband is running for office primarily to advocate for gun control (IMO), but none of his commercials that I have seen mention that. The fact I mute the TV whenever he comes on might have an effect on that, tho.

Re: Concealed Carry Permit

I think you are looking for a problem where it does not exist. Since Arizona allows concealed carry without a permit, why should there be a problem? The laws you quote were most likely written before the law allowing permitless concealed carry was enacted.

Re: Preferred hunting rifle for under $600

I'm not familiar with the Ruger American. Ruger makes excellent guns. If it has a synthetic stock, I would make sure it is rigid enough to not touch the barrel when shooting it. That can adversely affect accuracy.

The article says it was a .380. Who knows?

Re: Preferred hunting rifle for under $600

My 30-06 experience is limited to Savage and an old Remington. Both worked great. There are some excellent used ones out there. Might be a reasonable option, a way to justify the expense of more hunting gear.

Re: Integrated laser

If the thought of being without it in case of a failure were a problem for me, I would exchange it for one without the built in laser.

They lost me as a customer after the takeover. I liked their shirts, pants and shoes. They dropped them and substituted Bass Pro's brands.

small primer question

I deprimed a bunch of .45 ACP cases, mostly range pickups, this afternoon. Came across a hundred fifty or so with small primers. Some of those with large primers had off center hits. Got to wondering if anyone has had problems with the firing pins hitting small primers. Just curious--I load only lar...

I figure if I don't like the price, I'll look elsewhere. The thread about Cheaper Than Dirt comes to mind. A long time ago I thought their prices were too high and decided to do my shopping somewhere else.

Re: Advice on a snake pistol

I have used .22 snake shot successfully in a revolver or bolt action rifle. It is interesting because I have noticed the tone of the rattle change when the snake is hit. They continue to shake for a while. Shot one many years ago and put it into the trunk of my car. Had to search for it later becaus...

Re: Court upholds right of armed citizen to shoot a police officer in self-defense

I just read The Innocent Man by John Grisham, a factual account of misbehavior by police and a prosecutor. Even after his exoneration, which happened after years on death row, the prosecutor and police tried to prove he was involved. Disturbing.

'06 is my choice. My FIL used a .270 quite effectively. My rifle was a Remington, my FIL's--I don't know. I feel no loyalty to any brand of scope. Something reliable and accurate is all I require.
