I built a competition (prone/sling) bolt gun from a Walmart 700 youth in .243. Bought it for a steal of a price, sold everything but the receiver and bolt on GB and had a local 'smith turn it into what I wanted (square the receiver/barrel threads, lap the lugs, etc, etc).

Re: Sewing machine
Since I've got an extra treadle now, I thought about buying a dynamo and a converter and turning it into an "antique" cell phone charger...lol. Make the boy earn it!

Re: Sewing machine
The old Singers are cool, but not worth that kind of money IMO; they made a bajillion of them. I've got 2 of them, 1 to restore and 1 for parts. The one I'm restoring was my wife's grandmother's, but the cabinet was shot. I was able to buy another complete setup just for the cabinet (treadle, cabine...

recommend a scope for my use
I picked up a used AR10 in .308 with 18" barrel. It's currently got a cheaper 3-9x40 on it with standard reticle. I plan to use it as a plinker for up to 500 yards (likely stay between 100-300 the majority of the time). I'll try out what it has first and see how I like it, but just in case, can...

Re: Car fuel filter? Uh huh...sure...
So, you used a "fuel filter" as probable cause to arrest a felon with an unregistered firearm. Why bother mentioning he owns a couple common garage tools and other misc. bullshit?

Mine was same but different; as long as it was walnut & iron, I could get away with, "This old thing? I've had it for years..."DrEarlCordova wrote: ↑October 27th, 2019, 6:17 am As long as the gun is black she can't tell one from another.
I found that out when I purchase one that was FDE and she noticed immediately.

who can professionally repair a stock?
You might have seen a post I've made listing a Springfield M1842 musket for sale. Well, I've decided to keep it as I've finally found a stock that will provide the missing section I needed. I'd like to take the section of the stock that's currently on the rifle from about the second barrel band forw...

Re: DO YOU KNOW YOUR FIRST AID
I'd be interested in attending a class or two as well. Wilderness first aid, first responder to a vehicle accident, etc....something along those lines. I just wanna know how to keep a person alive long enough for someone that knows WTF they're doing shows up. I carry a fairly extensive FAK in the bi...

Plus, It's been a long time since I purchased these items and I'm told that some of the rules have changed in regards to fingerprints, trusts, signatures, etc. So I'm not up to speed on what the requirements are now.

Re: with D gone, best place to handle a transfer?
Thanks for the insight. It's not an issue of trust, it's more of an issue with wanting to make sure everything is done right the first time and not risk screwing something up and making the wait unnecessarily long. Plus, there's a possibility I may move out of state in the next 6 months, and I don't...

with D gone, best place to handle a transfer?
I have a couple suppressors that I'm planning to sell to a friend, but I need someone who can complete the transfer: paperwork, store the items until the paperwork comes through, etc. I always used Derek in the past, but have no idea where to go now. I'd prefer the NW valley area, but would go just ...
