Re: Shooting on private land
Apparently everyone seems to interpret the law differently. Usually to agree with their side of the story or to be on the right side of their argument. Me , I don't shoot in any municipality. Not even public ranges , so that doesn't effect me. All my shooting is on private land or in the desert mile...

Re: [TTAG] “Y’all Did Perfect!” Police Praise BBQ Food Truck Owners for Handing Over a Burglar at Gunpoint
I have heard of this several times.
Someone holds another at gunpoint until the cops arrive and they stay there.
What do you do if they decide to tell you to screw off and leave ?
You can't shoot them in the back.

Re: Fair price for a Thompson Center Contender?
By looking at gun brokers completed listings they seem to average anywhere from $300 to $500. Some a little more but not by much. There are some custom ones that do seem to go for more. There are quite a few that are asking higher prices but most didn't sell. What variation it is has a lot to do wit...

Re: 30mm to 1" scope adaptor - I gained weight for this?
I didn't think about it being aluminum. I have seen rust on mounts and scopes before , but they were quite a bit older than what you have.
Another thought about it getting wet. Would it swell and change the point of impact ?
All in all It is a good idea if you are in a pinch.

I believe it will work but I also believe if it ever gets wet it will be a problem by rusting both the mount and scope.

Re: Range Finders
No, it isn't. In regular hunting you're getting as close as possible and doing a one shot humane kill if at all possible. In varmint hunting, I'm doing long range sniping as I can't see sneaking up on ground squirrels or coyotes or things of that nature. Ever notice that Military snipers always use...

Re: Range Finders
In varmint hunting you need to know your range.
When hunting other species you just lob bullets at them and hope one hits because using range finders and scopes according to some people is not hunting.

Re: Range Finders
So enlighten us. What makes a person not a hunter just because he uses a scope and a range finder ? I said nothing about not being a hunter, just asked what happened to hunting without all the bells and whistles, does one really need all these advantages to bag a game animal, does one want to make ...

Let me guess.
