Re: 6.5 Grendel opinions???
I built a Grendel a few months ago. I have a 24" 1:7, and its not a 300 yard gun. Its a 600 -1100 yards gun. 18" barrel is not prime for this round. 20"+ is what you want to do. I have a Vortex Gen1 PST 6-24x50 FFP scope on mine. This AR rifle is definitely meant to reach out ant touc...

Re: Open Carry - no thanks
I carry open and concealed. One 380 in my boot at all times. I carry in a paddle holster on my right hip. My shirt hangs over it so its kind of concealed. Re: Reloading 30-06
the 150GR sierra will work fine for elk and deer. I load them with 51gr imr 4895 but am considering making the swap for IMR 8208 XBR.
I have heard really good things about it and am going to test the powder in my Grendel first.

Re: Loading 300 aac black out
I load 168 gr BTHP with H110 and CCI #450 with 16.0 and they are still super sonic. I load for a 16" with a pistol gas tube set up. If you are going 220 I would say stay around 9.4 gr max. Might be okay to go less if you are using an 8" to 10" barrel.
