Re: Polymer-coated LHP - Why oh why can't I find these?
As was said above, the HP makes it hard to cast commercially in quantities using a commercial grade casting machine. There are some smaller commercial casters https://www.mattsbullets.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=65&zenid=phgdnedfigf2skunoqm7vb5k91 that do cast by hand using all types...

Re: Reloading demons
Got my Dillon 650 in 1995 and cant imagine the number of rounds I have loaded on it since then and I have never even set off a primer or detonated the primer magazine. The problem is there are some people who should not be reloading and don't have the mindset for it. If a machine is treated correctl...

Re: 38 super ?
I started with super when I built up a comp gun in it back in the 90's and it is still used a lot in competition because it has the case volume to be able to use slower powders and generate more gas for the compensators. As others have said it is basically "long" 9mm. What many don't know ...

I was going to say you need to stick the tool through the center of it. I had the same thing for a small red dot (I think it was a Tasco) and you stuck a small allen wrench through it to make precise adjustments. Glad you figured it out.

Re: No primer shortage in Europe
Berlin was a very interesting place to be stationed. I had asked to be assigned to Germany (like my brother was) and never expected to get Berlin. Spent a lot of time at Rose Range and I also went on the U-Bahn when I first got there and didn't have a car yet. I didn't want to be that guy kicking my...

Re: No primer shortage in Europe
you went through the hoops? To even PCS there with a gun was a giant pain in the butt, so everyone that I served with over there that was a gun owner, had eft them behind with family and friends to watch until they returned. 1-1 Cav 1 AD, Hanau, Germany 2001-2005. I was there 10 years before you so...

Re: No primer shortage in Europe
When I was stationed in Germany there were German reloaders but everyone had to take a reloading class in order to get a "powder license" so they could buy powder which was restricted and tracked by the license. Plus since they limit the number of guns you could own (for most people it was...

Re: Talk about price gouging
One step above Thunderbolt, but hey, if ya just GOT to have some 22. And one of the 3 .22s that will run reliably in an Advantage Arms Glock .22LR conversion. Funny, I have an HK4 with all 4 caliber conversions and the .22 LR conversion is really picky on what it will function with. I dug around an...

Re: Ruger Mark 1 won't cock
That is how you know you assembled it incorrectly. You need to get the hammer strut in the top cup of the mainspring housing like others have said. Once you know what you need to do, it is easy and you wont have any issues again.

Re: Hand priming ... when?
When I first started loading it was on a single stage press with a crappy priming system(one primer at a time with no magazine). I started hand priming for the exact reasons you are thinking about it. How I did it was to clean the brass, size and then bell it so it was what I called "RTL" ...

Re: Shotshell Reloading
I’ve looked into reloading shot-shells in the past and it didn’t seem to make any financial sense. It’s so cheap to buy the Commerical stuff. I’m curious why you want to reload for shotgun? If you reload standard shells for 12 gauge or 20 gauge, you're right. If you reload non standard 12 gauge or ...

Re: Ar15 upper in 458 Socom.
I love my .458 socom. I became fascinated with the round, and bought a RF upper and a couple hundred rounds of ammo, and pissed away my year end bonus a couple years back. I don’t have time, or knowledge, to reload, so I buy all my rounds from Nick from Black Butterfly Ammo. He has some great optio...

Re: Just checking! .40
No worries, I know many folks who load .40 for competition uses and use small rifle primers. They do this because they can just buy lots of SR primers and use them for .223 also. I have used SR primers for .40 before but since I also load for many other pistol rounds that use SP primers, I still buy...

Re: Ar15 upper in 458 Socom.
Out of curiosity, why are you gas checking a powder coated bullet?
Because I can, Its a personal preference. I know there are lots of people out there who say you don't need to put a GC on a PC'd bullet and there are some that I shoot out of bolt guns that I do not. With shooting P...

Re: Ar15 upper in 458 Socom.
The Weatherby cartridge box as a back drop is a nice touch. I just like that classic box with the elephant, makes a good backdrop. That is my "big" .458" so that is why when people ask about the recoil of my 45-70 or .458 SOCOM I have to say it is subjective. My .460 Weatherby is a R...
