Re: Firearm hold/appeal

It's been around twenty years, but, the FFL I used back then and I had a conversation where, I am almost positive, he said FFL's only had to hold 4473's for a decade or so, and then could destroy them. But, my memory surely isn't what it used to be! :confusion-confused: Thanks for the correction! I...

Re: Firearm hold/appeal

The eCheck 4473 provides the FBI/NICS with the same information you provide the dealer when they manually call in the background check. The gun information is not provided during the background check, other than the type of firearm; handgun, long gun, or other (If you are buying a Ruger 10/22 s/n 12...

Kel-Tec makes a PLR-22, and Black Dog makes a 50 round drum:

Re: Semi-auto 22LR pistol

As far as a higher capacity, you aren't going to find many pistols that hold more than 10 rounds. I had a S&W M&P22 a while back, and I think it held 12 rounds. Not sure why someone hasn't made a higher capacity pistol....something that holds 20 or so rounds...I'm sure something is out there...

Re: Prescott Gun Shows

Generally not worth it, IMO. When I lived in Prescott Valley, it was a 5 minute walk from my house and I wouldn't go. I suppose if you were looking for bulk ammo it may be worth a trip if you were local, but there isn't anything there you can't find in Sportsman's Warehouse or your LGS. The event fl...

Re: Top Shot

I had a friend selected to compete on the show, but as soon as he found out that if he was booted off the show in the first episode, you will basically be locked in a hotel room for 6 weeks with no internet/phone privileges. And yeah, watching a so called "firearms expert" not be able to h...

Re: Location for the gun show this weekend

Didn't notice any BO this time around...heat, $8 parking and $16 ticket must be keeping the riffraff out. This is the first gun show in years where I actually purchased a firearm, not just beef jerky. Picked up a Ruger Precision Rimfire from a Tucson dealer (Climags.com?) for $350 +tax...$50 less th...

As per the Crossroads of the West Gun Show website, it is to be held in the Icehouse (the old Coliseum)

Re: Does Vegas PD train for this?

It's unclear if he even hit the guy...is that why he crashed into the building? Did one of the rounds hit a tire? I'd really love to read the report this guy has to write. Clearly the officer was justified in shooting back, but better judgement should have be exercised. I think this video will be us...

Re: Does Vegas PD train for this?

So many cringe worth moments in that video... I did like that he rolled down the window before shooting...over pressure can hurt. Sweet thumb wrapping around the rear of the grip. And of course, the backwards magazine change at the end. Finger on the trigger the entire time... I would be very surpri...

Re: Rail mounted lights

Streamlight makes a good product, and it would suit your needs. CR123 batteries are slightly more expensive; but they last for 10 years on a shelf, unlike alkaline. I've carried a Surefire Backup for 6 years, changed the battery twice. I also have a streamlight penlight that takes 2 AAA's and whenev...

Re: Remington 870 DM with detachable box magazine

Remington hurt me. The marketing for that shotgun is geared towards home defense.

If you just want to shoot old TVs in the desert, by all means have fun with an over priced pump action shotgun that takes magazines.

Re: Remington 870 DM with detachable box magazine

Marketing based on novelty. If you think you need a quick change magazine for your home defense shotgun because you may need 34 rounds to protect yourself, 1. you suck at shooting, 2. you don't live in a John Woo movie, and 3. you are going to be spending a lot of time patching drywall.

Pass.

Re: Rail mounted lights

Why does it have to use AA or AAA? The CR123 is probably a better battery for your application. How much do you want spend? A surefire will most likely cost double what a streamlight will. Also, the firearm you will be using it on is helpful information. I've used an Inforce APL mounted on top of my...
