Re: any .32S&W long, .32 H&Rmag, .32-20 WCF, or .327fedmag fans?

Candor: For the first time, I've been loading up some .32 auto, and was having some issues trying to insert primers with my Dillon 550. Brass cases just seemed to pop right out of the shellholder. I found myself using a finger to push the case as far into the shellholder and keeping it in place. Tha...

Re: LAX Ammunition - Has anyone purchased from them?

A little late, but I have some specs. I buy very little factory ammo, it's been over a couple of years. I love handloading as a hobby all by itself. But when I do, I buy LAX because its reasonable ammo at good prices. Free shipping on occasion. I give it to friends who want to plink a few rounds. I'...

Re: EDC backpack recommendations

I'm dense Hak, Can you describe a bag that's made to carry a sidearm? Does it have anything like an internal holster? or straps? or velcro? After searching on "pack for sidearm" I checked the eberleestock, pelican, and voodoo. They all have normal pouches; nothing specifically for a handgu...

Re: Permission to view classifieds

I never stated anything that said I thought opening classifieds would bring quality members. New quality members are brought my quality posts. So you wrote software to monitor posts for quality/quantity to stop poor members from seeing classifieds. Instead, why not write software to monitor members ...

Re: Permission to view classifieds

I have thousands of excellent posts on other shooter sites. I know a hundred quality Arizonans on those sites as friends that I never see here. I keep trying. Each time I come here, in comparison, I see very little new content of interest. So I don't come here much. The admin/owner has decided on fe...

Re: Revolver vs Semi-Auto

Which is more fun to shoot? Whichever is more accurate. I have lot's of guns but the ones that are the funnest to shoot are the most accurate ones. I don't care if it is a revolver or a semiautomatic. I like shooting tight groups and I like shooting distance. Hitting a steel plate just to hear it r...

Re: EDC backpack recommendations

Hey OP,

Most of my packs are much larger than one gun and mags. A fanny pack will carry a handgun.

Is there a reason you're not using a holster? Are you wanting concealed carry?
Are you prepping and just want the straps or velcro made for a gun to fit?

Re: Not quite enough powder

I believe the fire standard is 1" wood cabinet or container if above 20lbs smokeless powder in residence. The limit in most jurisdictions is 50 lbs. with the 1" wood. I'm not sure about Black powder limits. I've read 10lbs. max several times. It's an explosive. There is also a limit in mos...

thanks for the posts ,

I think I will try that 296, actually I think I will use the H110. I've always found that pair to produce the highest velocities. I don't know why I haven't built a recipe around that already.

The two slow powders I have been using is the VV N340 and 4227, some (hs-6).

rbking, For years, all I shot in 32s were ACP in my early 1900s Colt and S&W semi-autos. They were like mouse farts and I just never got excited. Now, put them in a revolver and you have my attention. Good luck with converting that brass. Suck my Glock, My step dad had the Winchester lever gun i...

any .32S&W long, .32 H&Rmag, .32-20 WCF, or .327fedmag fans?

Shooting is an odd hobby. I had been going bigger and hotter for several years; 357 Maximum, 44 mag when I got to shoot an old friend, the 32-20 WCF. I grew up in the tiny Texas town of Albany; nothing but cowboys. Of course my first real gun was a Colt first gen. In 32-20, it was a joy to shoot tho...

Re: Revolvers - Any wheelgun fans still out there

Coming up on the annual SAR show. I haven't been in 3 years because of cardiac issues. I miss the characters that I run into there. The old cowboys are always a hoot. I've had good luck in the past finding old revolvers at SAR. It takes time and patience. Anyone else heading in that direction? What ...

Re: 455 - 45 ACP Webley

Start with the 45 acp is much higher pressure than the .455 Webley. As I recall, 50% more to a proof load. Lots of HE's in .455 were blown up this way. I do believe that cutting down any brass increases pressures. Add that to the 50% already over pressure and that doesn't sound good. You will also h...

Re: 327 Federal Magnum and 32H&R mag - bullet and powder recipe preferences

needsmostuff, Thanks much for the reply. I was beginning to think no one shot the 32's. The 32 load data for heavy bullets is scarce. Most seems anemic in fear of older, less-robust sixguns blowing up. Vitavhouri in particular is not popular enough in this country to see a lot of development efforts...

327 Federal Magnum and 32H&R mag - bullet and powder recipe preferences

I'm using several combos. Looking for long range accuracy. In 32H&R mag, I'm a fan of the Vitavhouri N340 and have started at 5.0 gr and a 110gr SP. I'm estimating 1025fps. Does anyone know if that's close? I'm still looking for 327 load data using the N340. Any suggestions? In 32 H&R mag, m...
