Sorry, small pistol/rifle primers are interchangeable, as they have the same dimensions. Large pistol/rifle primers are NOT interchangeable as they have different dimensions. You may get away with it for a while, but eventually it'll catch up to you. JMHO YMMV

Old guy that owns the place can be a bit odd from what I was told. Buddy called and was told he could only buy primers in person and would have to buy some other components since the owner didn't want to sell only primers.
