Re: Not happy with your new rules!
Yep, me too. Active before the Great Meltdown, more than enough posts then to access the classifieds. After the Great Meltdown, we all get punished and have to start over. I just go elsewhere now. Hardly even look at this site. No great loss it turns out.

Re: Cooper’s color code
You might want to study the OODA loop. It is essentially what Cooper was trying to teach with his color code. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OODA_loop https://www.officer.com/training-careers/article/12330259/the-ooda-loop-and-color-code-system I'm not necessarily a Rob Pincus fan but this is a decen...

For comfort, OWB. For good concealment, IWB. I have a couple OWBs that print very little so they get a lot of use, especially when its hot outside.

Re: 1911 holster condition question
That ambi thumb safety has been an issue, at least for me. I found the right side thumb lever was easily bumped and taken off safe in everyday carry. I only had one with this feature and promptly removed it and put in a left side only version. I've always trained to use the left side even if shootin...

Re: S.Dakota now has ccw without a permit
These Constitutional carry laws are a good thing but you have to be careful: some of the states who have enacted them specifically state the law applies to RESIDENTS of the state only so if you're travelling through or visiting you'll still need a CCW that is accepted by that state. You just about h...

Re: Tire chains
I grew up in Alaska and studded tires are a much better alternative than chains in all but the most extreme circumstances. That's what we used mostly in Wyoming back in the day but many states have outlawed them because of the damage they 'think' they do to the roads. Chains were only for those rea...

FBI Study of Active Shooters
"3. A majority of active shooters obtained their firearms legally, with only very small percentages obtaining a firearm illegally." Its nice to not see all the blame being placed on guns ... it's almost enlightening! The first link is to a summary. The second link is to the document itself...

Here's a pretty detailed write-up by Grant Cunningham on gun lubrication; I haven't tried the food machinery lube but it makes sense.

IMHO, they waited about 2 minutes longer than necessary to shoot that asshat. I hope all the forcefully disarmed Aussies are feeling good about having no ability to defend themselves against muzzie terrorists.
