Re: Old farts in Tucson ?
The senior group that use to shoot out south of Green Valley now meet up around 0700 most Sunday mornings in Rio Rico. The group is around 5-7 guys. There is a makeshift range on FS land at MP 5 Ruby Road where everyone shoots.

Re: Does heat kill food storage items?
I put up a bunch of rice and beans in 2009. Both were packed in mylar w/O2 absorbers and placed in buckets. Rice is fine and cooks up well. Beans got so hard that even soaking 24hrs and cooking in a pressure cooker did not soften them enough for them to be edible. I had to throw them all away.

Re: Looking for DIY target stand ideas
I use a rebar stake and weld a piece or rectangular tubing to it. I can take a bunch of these and a hammer together to the range and pound them in the ground where I want them. They take up alot less room for me and once pounded into the cround, are tipped over if the wind picks up.

Ameriglo with green front dot, subdued rear.

I'm using a 10.5" barrel AR pistol topped with an Aimpoint M2. Like another poster, I'm loading it with 64gr Gold Dots.

Re: weapon lights for AR 15
I've purchased a several used in great condition Surefire 962v off the EE on Ar15.com.
Got a great deal on two of those that had issues. Got a RMA from Surefire, sent them back and receiver brand new updated models.

Re: Back packing water filter
I use the Hiker Pro. A buddy uses the Miniworks. Hike Pro handles sediment better although it only filters up to 200 gallons before needing to replace the filter element. The filter will not crack if is freeze when wet, . Filter elements are not expensive. The Miniworks has a ceramic element and is ...
