Copafest is Saturday 10.29.2022 in Maricopa at the casino.

Also the Yuma hamfest is now defunct per their website.

It was a good hamfest season, although I do believe attendance was down across the board.

Nothing now until fall and none of those are advertised yet.

Gas prices will probably put a dent in attendance by then, unfortunately.

I would certainly just go with a transceiver. They are general coverage as well.
The hottest thing on the market currently (bang for buck) is the Icom IC-7300.

That gets you all of HF. If you want a HF/VHF/UHF "shack in a box" then maybe a Yaesu FT991A.

For out of the box, the commercial J Poles are about $40.

It's an all aluminum antenna and could be painted.

Also you could consider a mobile dual band antenna. I've done that mag mounted to the roof AC.
