Public land shooting is still restricted, and likely will be until we get some real rain.
I highly recommend Glen and his crew at Independence Training ( https://www.independencetraining.com/ ) for your firearms training.

Re: 10/22 Barrel fitting
Ok, I put the frozen barrel in a room temp receiver, and it didn't seem to get any farther. Then I went the "low grade oven route" and put the receiver in the afternoon sun, and it actually seemed like it went a bit farther, as evidenced by the frosty barrel pic below. I think I'm going t...

Re: 10/22 Barrel fitting
I'd just freeze the barrel if it needed it. Leave the reciever alone.

Re: 10/22 Barrel fitting
A quality grease/anti-seize such as AeroShell would also greatly aid in installation. I'd lube it up, look for raised imperfections that cause it to stick, and lastly try gently tapping it in with a rubber mallet. Do you have anything like a set of calipers to measure it? Only as a last resort shoul...

Re: AR15 SBR - What scope
What advantage? Weight? If that's super important to the user, then I'd agree, go for the red dot. But f any astigmatism is at play and doesn't think that the extra weight is anything bad, then the LPVO is superior as those that are illuminated don't give issues to those with astigmatism. But this ...

Re: AR15 SBR - What scope
Geez. To clarify things for the children in the room. Optics are a matter of preference if we are discussing Red Dot v. LPVO. More then anything you need to actually use what you get. I am of the opinion that red dots are easier to use for a new shooter and the lack of parallax plus large eye box is...

Are we misers, Luddites, or haters of innovation that we don't agree with because of the first two making this a full circle? No one is making you buy it, sorry for posting new developments that I thought were interesting from a technological point of view. Seems like they disagreed with your persp...

To be clear those are forge codes, not necessarily an indicator of the company that machined the forging into something usefull.

Re: Why the hate for SERPA Holsters?
You can thank good ol' "tex" AKA "I just F'n shot myself" guy. He blamed a serpa for his finger pulling the trigger on his glock. Funny how the first one is that it causes people to put their finger on the trigger, because poor trigger discipline couldn't be the reason. I wore a...
