Re: Ruger Vaquero Gun Belt and Holster

I bought a setup from Wild West Mercantile in Mesa: 7302 E Main St, Mesa, AZ 85207 Having said that, attend one of the weekend cowboy matches (every range has one; check for what's closest to you). They'll likely have people selling off their extras & used items. Unless you just gotta have new o...

Re: Shotgun Picture Thread!

Winchester 1897 Takedown - This one was made in '55. Yes, it's got a Model 12 forearm on it; installed long ago by a PO. Someday I might change it back. I had the barrel shortened to 19", threaded for internal chokes and had the brass bead re-installed. I also shortened the stock ~1.5" and...

Re: Custom safe interiors - lighting, shelves, etc.

I like the can labeling for caliber; I really need to do something like that. I've seen the magnets, and like that idea too. I've tried making labels with my Brother label maker before but have slacked off in recent years. Maybe I just like opening a half-dozen cans before I find the right one...lol...

Just checked the bottle, and your right; it's LSA and not CLP. Getting close to being empty though, and I'll need to find more. They still sell that stuff?

Re: Custom safe interiors - lighting, shelves, etc.

Do you really gain much space with the rifle rods? 1-3 more rifles? Like I mentioned, I haven't used mine yet. But, I guess it would depend on which rifles you're putting in there and how big of a safe you have. With the traditional "notch" spacers, I usually can't fit a rifle in every no...

Re: Oil or grease for semi auto?

If it slides; grease it. If it rolls/rotates; oil it. Or at least, that's what I was always told. Using the Garand as an example, I use oil on maybe 1 or 2 places (can't remember offhand), but I use grease on everything else. I prefer Mobil 1 synthetic (the red stuff). I apply with with a children't...

Re: Custom safe interiors - lighting, shelves, etc.

Since I'm on the subject, what's everyone doing with their mags/ammo? I keep some in the safe, but couldn't possibly keep all of it in there...especially the ammo. At the moment, I keep all (or at least most) mags in the safe, but ammo is stored in cans. I've been thinking seriously about picking up...

Re: Custom safe interiors - lighting, shelves, etc.

It looks like there would be too much dead space between the pistols and back of the safe. There is dead space, but since they hang below the shelf, it's not taking up shelf space. If you really wanted to pack handguns in there, I'd use the hangers below the shelf and the racks on top. Also, I love...

Re: Custom safe interiors - lighting, shelves, etc.

For HD pistol rods, I'll likely bend up some larger diameter steel rod myself and plasti-dip it.

Custom safe interiors - lighting, shelves, etc.

How many here have "remodeled" (so to speak) the interior of their safes? I bought a new unit at the end of last year and the interior shelving leaves a lot to be desired. It serves its purpose, but the top shelf easily bowed from the weight I was putting on it; the cheap MDF (or whatever ...

I always get out a kick out of those who say they'll "head north to the mountains!" when they "bug out." Sure, pal; you and a million other folks have the same delusion. Most of the people who live there know you'll be coming and have likely prepared for that scenario too. ...

Re: AR versus AK - which is better? Why?

For me, this particular argument comes down to one specific word: 'overall." In that case, AR by a LONG shot...and I'm no fanboy of either platform. It's only when a specific attribute is singled-out that the scales tilt one way or the other. I've got exactly as many AR's as I do AK's (I think;...

I checked the system; it did send it. What msn does with it after that; well, I can't control it of course. I'd suggest whitelisting the domain so you get future email. Well, if it was sent then I'm not sure what happened...never saw it in the junk folder? What's the domain address that I should ad...
