Taurus' Brazilian website has it at 29.2 ounces. Still pretty beefy.

These Serbian AK's seem to be getting favorable reviews. Anyone with any positive or negative experiences with these?

Looking at giving some of these a try as I've heard mostly positive reviews. Anyone with any positive/negative experience with Lancer?

Remington's new 700 Alpha 1
I guess the term "new" is relative as the Model 700 has been around a while, but supposedly there are some new features on this one:

American Spirit Arms?
Many years ago I recall this company having a booth at the Crossroads gun show. Some liked their products while many didn't. Did they go out of business, bankrupt, etc?

Re: Palmetto State Armory
Picked up this PSA Plain-Jane A4 clone the other day. Fit & finish seem first rate, but I probably won't get to shoot it for a while. I believe these are the "fat" handguards?

Re: Palmetto State Armory
I know that on many of their rifles they offer chrome-lined barrels or nitrided (Melonite) treated. Chrome is superior (I believe) but for the average weekend shooter nitride is probably good to go.

This is one of those brands where you hear everything from "Damn fine rifle" to "Avoid all PSA products". Anyone with any positive/negative experiences with PSA?

Picked this up off layaway today. CZ has discontinued these, so I think this 2022-manufactured example must have been in the tail end of production. Certainly a large, heavy beast that I'll probably use as a range/plinking/fun gun. As I've been reminded, a Glock 21 will do the same job cheaper, prob...

ATF rules question
Had a person in New Mexico contact me regarding a 1911 I had for sale on another board. He was going to be in town (Flagstaff) and wanted to buy it. Told him I couldn't make the sale since he was a resident of another state, unless he went through an FFL. This was a private, individua-to-individual ...

Re: Book review: "A Collector's Guide to the Colt AR-15 SP1 Sporter Rifle"
In the mid-1980's, SP-1's averaged (IIRC) around $600 depending on your location. Heck, even Mongomery Ward's and sporting goods stores in malls sold them. Good times.

Re: Book review: "A Collector's Guide to the Colt AR-15 SP1 Sporter Rifle"
The book has some old advertisements included. The first commercially available AR-15's had an MSRP of $189.50 in 1964. Using the CPI inflation calculator, $189.50 in February 1964 would translate to $1739.94 in February 2022.

Book review: "A Collector's Guide to the Colt AR-15 SP1 Sporter Rifle"
For anyone interested in the history of the Colt SP-1, this book is worth a look. Covers components, serial number ranges, accessories, etc. Written and published by a couple Phoenix-area collectors. At $42 shipped, it's not exactly cheap but contains a decent amount of information. I think it's ava...
