I also have a SB precision piston that I installed. But even before that my 930 handled #8 just as well as #6,7.5 haven’t fired any #9 yet.

Re: Trap or Sporting Clays leagues
I enjoy RSSC’s Soorting clays and 5 stand courses. They had a Juniors league on Monday nights years ago. When I went there on Saturday, they told me they’ve extended their hours on Wednesday evenings. But no leagues.

Re: Mossberg 930 Gas Piston and Or3gun parts
Just got back from taking my 930 out. 250 rounds, 0 hiccups or issues. The action cycled much smoother and more “positive” then it did with the factory parts. All the loads fired were full 1 1/8 oz #8’s. As to spending the cost on Or3gun parts, if I hadn’t ran into the deal on a full competition int...

Re: Mossberg 930 Gas Piston and Or3gun parts
Just got it back today, installed the parts. I’ll be taking it out next Saturday for a round each of Skeet, Trap, and Sporting Clays.

Re: Mossberg 930 Gas Piston and Or3gun parts
I’ve had several failure to feed issues. Even after proper break in, I have 4 out of 50 hulls fail to properly feed into the chamber after the empty hull has ejected while shooting doubles. I ended up contacting Mossberg due to a separate issue with my 930, barrel gouging the magazine tube. They had...

Re: Gun Stock refinishing
I appreciate all the feed back. I ended up using boiled linseed oil. 5 very light coats with about a day in between, finished with several paste wax layers. My nephew decided he wanted the rifle and wanted “old school, just like when Grandpa bought it.”

Gun Stock refinishing
So I’m in the middle of a restoration of a Savage 87A and I’m getting ready to start the stock. I’ve grown up just rubbing linseed oil into raw wood until the desired finish is reached, then wax and buffing. Now being in a much hotter, and much dryer area, what’s everyone’s thoughts on linseed oil v...

Trap or Sporting Clays leagues
Are there any Trap or Sporting Clays leagues in the East Valley? The league I was on has become but a memory, and I want to continue the sport without having to drive all the way across the valley every week.

Mossberg 930 Gas Piston and Or3gun parts
So I’ve been looking on ways to extend the life of my 930, and increases reliability. I’ve seen SB pistons recommend (awaiting the next pre order to open) and the spacer and firearm piece from Or3gun along with their competition tunable recoil system. Has anyone here used these, and if your did were...

Re: Sears JC Higgins Model 20
Update on the model 20. My new kid on the team shot his best round ever with it today. (36/50). But, we did find it needs a new ejector. Thankfully that’s an easy fix.

Re: Shooting Outdoor Locations
If your up too, and willing to drive. Plus have a really good mapping app/GPS unit. Off of I8 & Vekol valley rd. On the south side of the 8. There is a strip of BLM land once you pass the JJ Ranch (stay right at the fork). But, and this is a huge one, the slice is dead between reservation land t...

Re: Sears JC Higgins Model 20
Appreciate the feed back. I did end up just waxing the exterior and wood. I’ll let y’all know his reaction after our team practice next week.

Sears JC Higgins Model 20
I’d like to pick the groups hive mind. I got a Sears JC Higgins Model 20, 12 gauge as part of a trade deal. Shot very little, stored in a closet most of it 73 years. The wood is in great shape, very little blueing missing/worn from the action. Only very light surface rust on the barrel. Negative cho...

Re: Sport Clays
I tend to shy away from any Turkish made O/U or SXS. I’ve read too many instances of firing pin breakages, plus seen several sent back through my FFL and taking months for a return of said firearm. And at least 2 of them were returned with notices that a replacement part was unavailable. Have you co...
