Re: General Officers Model 1911

There will be more to come on this fine collectors item in the near future. I've been out of town, and the owner busy, but will be meeting with him this week, and deciding on a course of action soon. First up would be a good cleaning, and some better pictures.....

General Officers Model 1911

I have an old friend that was handed down a "General Officers Model" 1911 pistol. Pretty unique in my view. I am not a 1911 guy, so told him I would put it up on this board and see if I could get some information, as well as group thoughts on what it might be worth on the open market, or o...

Re: Private sales getting ripped on the rise?

So how does this Safe Zone at Gilbert Police work? In my experience, a non police person bringing a handgun or rifle into a police station would result in some quick reaction by the first officer that saw you.

Re: Did Biden Order Army's The Lake City Ammunition Plant To Cancel Civilian Sales?

The plant keeps the employees busy with civilian orders during periods when the military or DOD Exports are not a priority. This allows them to retain a valuable, long employed, and skilled workforce. When they are running overtime filling orders for the US Military, Ukraine, Israel, and other DOD o...

Re: M1 Carbine Fans - A Couple of Videos

My father bought one from the NRA in about 1959 or 60 as I recall. Was classified "Unserviceable" by the Army, and the NRA was liquidating them for the military. Anyway, the price was $10 (TEN $). It was unserviceable because we found that the firing pin was bad. Replaced the firing pin, c...

Electronic Safe Keypads & EMP event

Perhaps there is an Electronics, Electric, or Nuclear engineer in our group that could address my question. Given the popularity of gun safes with electronic keypad operation rather that the old dial type manual operator, what is the probability that a safe with a battery operated keypad equipped sa...

Re: Issues flying with firearms

Interesting.........I used to fly with my competition pistol quite a bit from Sky Harbor to the Carolinas, TX, NV, MO, and similar, and never had a problem. But was some years ago, although later the 9/11. The procedure was to verify the pistol was unloaded at the check-in counter, insert a carbon c...

Re: More Cannon Safe Input Issue

Also, from what I read on various on line sites, many times the issue is that the current carrying material on the back of each "Number" (1,2,3,etc) on you keypad can wear off with a lot of activity, to the point that it does not make good contact with the corresponding spot on the back of...

Re: Cannon Safe Input Issue

Speaking of keypads on Cannon safes, I had an issue with the keypad on my cannon in late February in that it wasn't operating all the time, even with new batteries, it would sometimes not open. Anyway, Cannon said would ship a new model (different manufacture) within 15 to 20 days. This was on March...

Glock 19 Gen 2 Value Question

I have a friend that has a couple of very clean, very low round count (Like less than 100 ea.) that he is thinking of selling. Would any of the many Glock Fans here have any rough idea of the value of each. The picture I think might give you some idea of the condition. Thanks in advance G19.jpg

Re: Rifle, Carbine and Long-Arms Picture Thread!

My newest addition. About a year ago my long time neighbor (a retired NJ State Trooper) passed away and his widow asked me to come over and make sure all his guns were cleared and safe. She also asked me to get her some valuation information on his stuff - and said that she would probably be sellin...

Re: Private sale question

Years ago I was at one of the Cross Roads gun shows in Phoenix, trying to sell a 1911 as I recall, and had set down in a spot near one of the entrances with my backpack on the ground so that anyone could see the sign on it offering said gun for sale. Had a middle aged guy come by and look at the gun...
