Re: Engraving ambiguity for Form1

Yesterday I went to an engraver in Tucson and did the deed. I’m glad that I happened to see this topic pop up here. Otherwise I’d have been fat dumb and happy while being the government-desired technical-felon.

Re: Anyone who has ever posted on GunsArizona from outside PHX knows what he means

Quite honestly, I’m certain this guy will still get trade offers and be asked to deliver it to Phoenix. I only recently started using GA and have been really annoyed by some “buyers.” You say you’re not wanting any trades and folks message you over and over trying to trade you worthless junk. Then t...

Re: Engraving ambiguity for Form1

I just did some searching and Silencer Central has a FAQ page on what is required for an SBR. It gives all of the spec’s and requirements. It looks like since I’m using an existing serialized lower I just need to add my name and city/state. https://www.silencercentral.com/blog/every-nfa-engraving-re...

Re: Engraving ambiguity for Form1

Hmmmm…. I’m even more confused now. My box 3b is my full legal name and complete address to include zip code and “UNITED STATES.”

Re: Engraving ambiguity for Form1

Ugh…. Guess I need to read some more before I start engraving. Luckily I’ve got a neighbor that can laser-engrave and mill metal so if I do need to do it I can have him knock it out for me in just a few minutes.

Re: Engraving ambiguity for Form1

I’m not sure I have an answer, but I just did my first SBR Form-1 about a week ago. I sent Silencer Shop the picture of my lower that I’ve had about ten years. They filled out the Form-1 then emailed me a few days later to certify it with ATF. Nothing was added. Just my branded and serialized lower ...

Re: Ditching the digital lock

This is not a difficult DIY project. Easy to swap and easy to set your own combination. I’ve done this several times. Several online retailers can set you up with a lock and dial (almost always sold separately). You don’t need the best of the best to have good security. Just stick with a name brand ...

Re: A funny thing happened while getting my CCW Permit...

Ugh… Same here.
I've been carrying with a permit for about 45 years. When I moved to AZ I decided to go through their permit process. My instructor was okay, but the class was definitely set up more to sell carry insurance than to train you in any way.

Re: NM Gov says no carry guns in Albuquerque

Daughter and son-in-law went to the NM State Fair in ABQ yesterday. For as long as I can remember the NMSP has worked the entrances and asked everyone carrying firearms to let them know on their way in. Not the point of this post, but… Both daughter and SIL were carrying. Both informed NMSP. Both we...

Re: Why are all safes coming with the electronic keypads?

Mech locks do fail I found out yesterday. As I posted this morning, my 9 month old Liberty with S&G mech combo lock just decided to stop responding. Worked fine for months then suddenly will not do the "stop" at 87. Just spins Wow. Even more scary. At least Liberty has a good warranty...

Re: Why are all safes coming with the electronic keypads?

Resurrecting a (somewhat) old topic: I just reinstalled my original dial locks on both of my safes. One 8 year old Liberty and one 30 year old Cannon. I previously had an S&G on the Liberty which had been problem free and a LaGard on the Cannon which did fail and locked me out about 20 years ago...
