Re: CCML Night Match, 15 June 2024

White light. Lighted range. There are other ranges adjacent to "bay C" that are not lit, if you want to try out your nods.... Just no shooting on them.

Crime stats?

The FBI's dubious crime stats: Just in time for election season, Joe Biden's FBI is dutifully telling us that crime is way down, but the bureau wants us to ignore all the cities that have stopped reporting their crime statistics. The newly released numbers say that the rates of violent and property ...

CCML Night Match, 15 June 2024

Alright, bring your AR's, as we'll be running a rifle match as well as the usual fun, defensive stuff. There will be a reload from .mil stripper clips involved, so practice up, if you can. Usual plate rack and a goody from last year, repelling car jackers, from sitting, facing parallel to the range....

Good match, lots of rounds downrange, several new to us shooters. All sounded like they will be back next month. Weather was great!!

CCML Night match, Saturday 18 May 24

It's that time again!! Let's see what slipped away since the last match. Barricades, use of cover, strong hand/weak hand both supported and unsupported. There will be low firing ports and I have it from some of our younger members that a crane service will be available for us older, disabled pighead...

So, new cartridge case, higher pressure load, and they just re-invented the 7mm-08? Oh, sorry, we don't do them "metric" things....

Re: Videos of engagements

Were there any cops left to patrol the rest of the metro area? Good laudy, how many cops does it take to process one incident? Once they had traffic diverted and were free to move about, why call in the rest of the available officers? Sheesh, ....

Re: Manually cycling rounds through 1911- ok?

If I were to make a practice of this, I'd tie the trigger back and NOT LET IT LOOSE until I was done. This is how the gun functions in live fire, so emulating it for function checks is fine. Got into doing this many, many years ago after discussing dry fire training with the smith who built my targe...

Re: Do any of you know thw White Mtn Apache gun laws?

Most reservations are gun free for us. No problem traveling on the state and federal roads, but look out on tribal lands. If busted, you will face trial in their court systems, and you have no rights....

Re: 147gr or subsonic 9mm

The LEE 153 grain RN for 38 Super runs very quiet in my sub gun and will cycle some of my hand guns. Keeping it subsonic in a 10" sub gun limits it to what hand guns it will run reliably in. Granted, it's a casting and handloading proposition, but it's another option. And the six cavity molds m...
