I was just figuring out the same thing for the Streamlight I put on my Mk18. I don't have a ton of excess cable to worry about snagging. I think I'll be able to get away with one small ziptie to secure the excess cable. On a rifle with a quad rail, such the RIS on the MK18, I used LaRue rail clips....
