Re: 100-Year-Old Walks Bataan Memorial Death March for 11th Time

I did the Bataan Memorial Death March years ago when I was stationed in New Mexico. There were survivors there that talked with us and some stationed themselves at places along the route. I swear, you could see the steel in their eyes. It was an honor to shake hands and spend a little bit of time in...

Re: Marlin .17hmr

I don't have a Marlin, but that seems like a great deal. The .17hmr has become a favorite of mine. I bought a bunch of ammo when thing were affordable luckily. I'm kinda saving it for small game rather than just taking it out and shooting a bunch.

Re: AR-10 AR308 Platform Cartridge Options

.260 is interesting, I think you can get a bit more out of it than the 6.5 maybe. But I'm not at that level. As long as it works and that's what you're after it'd be worth a look.

Re: What's your ideal scope for bolt action rimfire?

I have a Leupold on my 452, but I got it slightly used from a friend. Great combination though I think that scope was over $400 new. I really like an older sightron that I have on a 10/22 target model. I also have a 455 .17hmr, I took a chance and bought a Hawke with a .17hmr bdc reticle. I usually ...

Re: AR-10 AR308 Platform Cartridge Options

I built my AR-10 inn6.5 creedmoor, not because I think it's the best thing ever, but it is fun to shoot and when I built it I bought bulk s&b cheaper than I could find .308. But that was then. But if you're going to compete, and load for it I guess you gotta pick the one that works for you best....

Re: Browning auto 5

There isn't a bad shotgun on that design. People place value on things, but if you want a great gun, that design is awesome. The Browning is supposedly worth more, but I'd take any at a fair price. I still have my dad's 16g Browning A5. I've hunted with it since I was about 11. I love that gun.

Re: What do you like in 22LR rifle?

I like a lot of different .22s that I have, and rarely sell or trade one unless to get another one. I have old ones and new. Bolt and semi, and I sometimes get to shoot my cousin's lever action. But my favorite ones say CZ on them. I'm not really a brand loyalty guy, but they are tough to beat for p...

Re: What is Your favorite Rifle?

I traded a Nintendo 64 for a Russian SKS back in 1998. i still have the rifle, I bet the N64 is long gone. It's far from my favorite rifle though.

Re: Sheriden

I talked to them about a Sheriden Silver streak, they gave me the number of a guy up in the Verde Valley that works on them. I talked to him on the phone and he sounds like a reasonable guy, I haven't gotten around to sending him my rifle yet though. I just noticed this post, it's been a bit but I c...

Re: Looking for 65 CM Build Advice

I don't really have any do's or don'ts yet since I haven't finished my AR10. But I would suggest Quentin Defense over in Gilbert for your upper and lower. They have them in stock at the moment as well. I'm very happy with the quality. I'm using a Criterion barrel with a JP Enterprises barrel extensi...

I don't even appendix carry because it seems a little too close for comfort, pointing there on purpose is just dumb.

Re: What is Your favorite Rifle?

I don't usually play favorites, but if I had to pick one, my dad's Mod 70 300 H&H is pretty awesome. I have others that are more fun to shoot, but that Winchester is pretty sweet.

Re: Obscure firearm trivia.

Shakedown, I kept thinking Rundown, but that's a Rock movie I think? Once the picture showed up I figured it out.

I have a good obscure firearm I think. Ruger Redhawk, minus the sights with the barrel rib turned/removed. In the movie you gotta look close, because you don't see it much.
