Re: Obscure firearm trivia.

I can't remember the title, but I think Peter Weller was in it as well. If that helps anyone else remember. Is that cheating? I remember he hit the slide release and the thing sounded like my Browning Auto 5.

Re: Obscure firearm trivia.

The Villain, directed by Hal Needham, stuntman extraordinaire, also Cannonball racer and maybe a little conman? But what the heck it was the 70s and I was 10yrs old, those movies are hilarious. I think that movie was terrible, I'll have to check it out to make sure. In what 1990 movie did a Walther ...

Re: Stripped Lowers

I have used quite a few Andersons and have had no issues either. I have had people tell me that they have found them out of spec, but when I ask how they measured them I did not get a clear answer from those individuals. Now I don't consider myself an expert, and I'm not a machinist, but I have take...

Re: 6.8 or 300 BLK? Which one

Getsum and I bought some Barnaul 6.5 Grendel a few months ago at a very reasonable price, and it shoots great. It's great for practice. There are lots of 6.5 projos available now as well for reloading, although I have started doing that for it yet. There is also some decent looking factory hunting a...

Re: Opinion: Best .22 handgun

Mk series Rugersare hard to beat, I still have the first pistol I ever bought and my wife and boys love to shoot them, a Ruger single six,I have two now, but they have gotten expensive. The MK series are sill affordable and are a great value. That's what I'd do.

Re: 6.8 or 300 BLK? Which one

Grendel fits the AR15 platform, not the 308/AR10. It's an excellent cartridge, you should take a look. The bolt face is a little slimmer than the 5.56, which makes me wonder about it as a battle rifle option, but as a hunter, no problem. Just my imagination in any case maybe.

Re: 6.8 or 300 BLK? Which one

I'm not sure why I'd want the blackout. Unless suppressed at close range. It looses it's appeal quick. The 6.8 is pretty neat overall, but my 6.5 Grendel is an awesome rifle, not the end all be all, but I plan to hunt with it as much as possible. I'll never ditch my 5.56 rifles, why would I? Just to...

Re: Colt making Pythons again

I've had two Pythons, they are frickin' gorgeous guns, but I don't own them anymore, kinda wish I did. I think the new ones might end up being better guns in the end. I like my Ruger and Smith DA revolvers, if I could spend the cash maybe I'd buy a new Python, I hope Colt does well with them, America...

Re: recommend a scope for my use

I've got a Nikon M223 on one of my ARs, I've got a lot of rounds downrange with no issues. When I bought it it was on sale and they threw in the mount, it was a pretty good deal. I can't remember if it was Brownells or optics planet. Nikon makes the same scope for 308. I also have a Primary Arms 1-6...

Anyone buy from Natchez Shooting Supplies? It looks like they have good deals on Vortex and others, but I've never purchased anything from them.

Re: Canik tp9sfx

I have an SF, i'm not using it for your intended purpose, but it is accurate and reliable. I have close to 2k rounds through it without any issues, which isn't the end all be all, but more than a lot of people shoot. I like it a lot and carry it with no reservations. I'd buy another Canik without an...

Re: Stag Arms?

I had a friend that had one, when he went shooting he always took it out. Never had an issue, it was a basic AR and always worked, no idea about support for it or anything about the company. But mil spec AR stuff can always be squared away(usually),if the price is right the name wouldn't scare me.

Re: Makarov sights

In addition to all the other stuff I'd like to do, I have always thought it would be neat to kind of customize a Mak. I couldn't bring myself to do it to any of mine, they're all in really nice condition, but if I found one that was a little ratty I'd do it. I was thinking that sights for a Browning...

Re: Big bore AR

They all look like fun. I think my SD buddy likes the 450 because he can use similar bullets to his 45, at least that was what he was talking about, while the 458 is a different size and has no interchangeability, obviously the 50 is a whole different animal. Knowing him he probably got a really goo...
