Re: polyemer AR's

The Cav15 formerly made by Cav Arms here in AZ now by GWACS is the best of breed polymer lower in my experience.

Owned several over the years, still own two, they are good to go.

Re: AR15-A2

I think you would be best off to assemble one. I did just that, 20" FN barrel, unknown manufacture A2 upper I bought used.

Sweet shooting rifle.

Re: Side arm or more primary ammo?

What I've learned from this thread so far: Viper 1 26 inf is an animal, I don't want to mess with that guy. 100lb pack and plates would kill me. That Ranger1 guy can go full Rhodesia and operate with no water or food. Steve in 29 seems level headed and a good source of info. Knockonit is still funny...

Re: Shooting buddies with bad muzzle discipline?

Most of the guys I shoot with train and compete regularly so muzzle discipline is great. I don't have to worry about it. I recently went shooting with my future father in law, who's just a regular gun guy, gun handling wasn't spectacular, but he was very safe. Let me know when he wanted to go down r...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W7W-5QE3jzw At 2:22, he says that he was having so much fun watching the target fall, that he forgot to look at his sights while shooting. That is instinctive, point shooting shooting from a world record shooter. I think that settles the arguments for the naysayers Y...

You can hump the greatest wonder rifle shooting bullets made of unicorn bone, but if you can't put the rounds where they need to go, all else is naught.

Re: Decisions...how do you carry?

Over the years training with a few different folks, I've changed from strong side IWB G17 and surefire X300, over to Glock 19 appendix. I also carry my spare mag appendix opposite my holster. Just to the right of that, a short fixed blade. Having my tools in front of my hips allows me quicker access...

Re: Can any 5.56mm rifle currently on the market really make a significant improvement on the current crop of AR15

I gotta float my stick with some of the comments, its an ar, the pants, and shirt don't mean crap, most of the new stuff is window dressing to catch the buyer who likes the new shiney. oh maybe some credence to a few odds and ends, but in the end, its the barrel, and the ammo. that will rule the da...

Re: Long Range Precision Shooting?

428CJ can shoot. I've read a bunch of his posts about long range shooting over the years, and even chatted with him face to face a few times back when the open carry dinners were a thing. I know Glen over at Independence training is a fan of the Ruger precision's rifle. Also a fan of 6.5 He and one ...

Yeah, I thought it was kind of clunky.

It worked, but it doesn't do anything a m4 won't do for me.

Re: instinctive/point shooting

I can't tell if this just trolling or a serious conversation. But I'll put in my two cents. Point shooting is dumb. We've evolved past WW2 era pistol handling. The only time I've trained unsighted shooting was with Craig Douglas of Shivworks. Video explaining his retention shooting method. https://y...

It's an excellent training aid. As Ranger1 said, Glock models fit in Glock holsters from my experience with them.
