The buffer:

Can't upload any more pic's for some reason. This measures .652 in diameter. Inner hole is .31, and it's about .30 thick in its current, crushed/well used, state. I'd asume it needs to be about .40 thick as a new one to prevent metal on metal.

Can maybe make one out of something. Suggestions? Would like to find some bullets and dies to try and r...

Re: 2011s

Tisas gets great reviews. I have their 9mm 1911 and it's excellent.
Staccato is also awesome.

Re: 6ARC or 6.5 Grendel, talk me into either

I'm a huge fan of Grendel. 1K yards is no problem.
Tons of factory ammo offerings or load your own.
Mine is a 18" suppressed. Shooting 500 yards or less is boringly easy.
I use 123gr ELDM's with 8208. Going to have to work up a new load with 8208 being non-existent.

Re: 6.5 grendel

No Con's, Grendel is amazing. Lots of factory ammo available as well if you don't reload.
At 500 yards it's boringly easy, almost a waste of ammo if you're just target shooting.

Doc wrote: July 2nd, 2023, 2:57 pm Well I finally made it out there.

It was a very target rich environment with some plus sized steel.

My only complaint was the burger place, Wild Horse West doesn’t serve fries.

Other than that it was a nice place to sling lead.
Good times.

Re: Ruger American Predator 223

The PoorUger continues to impress. 1st rounds at distance were at 645 yards. Didn't see target impact splash and no dirt kicked up around the target. Wasn't sure what I was hearing for an impact. Had a spotter verify they were hits. Had decent success at 800'ish and 2 out of 10 at 1040. IMG_8513.jpg

Re: Ruger American Predator 223

Due to the OP 'forcing' me to buy a similar rifle I did. I wanted a cheap rifle for fun. Added an Arken 4-16 scope.

I was very amazed by the results.
Only thing I added was a pic rail to mount a bipod.
Results at 100 yards amazed me:
