Well, I started down the path of building a Colt 607... my wallet hurts
I've wanted an XM177E2 and a 607 for as long as I can remember. A couple years ago, I put together my XM177E2, SBR'ed it and am happy with it.
But I've always kicked the can down the road for a 607 due to cost, complexity and difficulty finding the parts. Well, no more - I've decided to rip that band-aid off.
I'll have to post pics later, but I have the lower already built (pending an approved F1) with the correct 607 stock... and today, just finished the handguard modifications. I am waiting on the upper receiver and the Colt barrel I sent out to have it cut to 10".
Whew... given what this will have cost me when all is said and done, I hope it doesn't disappoint!
Anyone else got a 607 clone?

Well, here's some of the build so far...
H&R GX-5758 receiver
H&R LPK
A1 original grip
ORI 607 stock from original A1 stock, cut
cut-down triangle handguards
custom retainer cap for slip-ring
Colt C MP 11.5" barrel cut down to 10" by ADCO and gas port adjusted
Colt FSB w/A1 sight
Brick 607 moderator w/rebated muzzle end to look like the real one
Still waiting on:
- H&R A1 upper receiver (no shell deflector, but has teardrop FA)
- chromed BCG
- appropriately sized (thickness) split/lock washer
- Approved F1
The funny thing is I originally was planning on doing this in a way to save money and get the same general look, but decided that if I was going to do this, I wanted to do it right... so I have a bunch of parts that I started with and decided to not use them... things like triangle carbine handguards that don't need the custom retainer cap to use (ie, not cut-down ones)... an A1 upper in the wrong shade of gray, and I was going to just use the 11.5" barrel (to avoid cutting a Colt commando barrel and have the improved ballistics of an 11.5"), so I got some XM177 flash suppressors that would slip over the outer portion of the barrel with the threads further up...

If you want to sell the spare A1 upper I would be interested. Don't care about color. Just want one for a build for my kids.

I built a 605 clone, this one is a dedicated .22 using a Spikes barrel. Since the chamber is deeper in the upper receiver, it's the original overall length with a 16" barrel.Lower receiver is late, but it's close enough for plinking.
